Antonina Shevchenko
Antonina Shchenko is a Kyrgyzstani Muay Thay champion. She is currently a fighter within the UFC Flyweight division. She is the younger sister of fellow UFC fighter and ex- UFC Flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko. Antonina Shevchenko began her professional journey as an Muay Thai boxer. She debuted in 2003, at the IFMA World Championship Tournament. Shevchenko was the winner at the competition and defeated Suzane Milliner in a unanimous vote. Antonina received a gold medal in 2007, a silver medal in 2008, a silver in 2007 and a medal of bronze in 2008 and a medal with gold in 2011. She was also crowned IFMA World Amateur Muay Thailand Champion in 2016 by the IFMA. Antonia started her professional career in 2003 and won the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Championship in 2012, the Lion Fight Lightweight Championship in 2016 and the WMC and Phoenix FC World Championships in 2016. Antonina was last in action against Isa Tidblad Kskikangas at the Phoenix Fighting Championship. She was able to win unanimously. Antonina Shychenko's first professional MMA debut came in 2002, at the KFK Cup in Kyrgystan in which she fought Anara Bayanova. She won this fight by TKO after round 2. Her two subsequent matches were held at the WXF X-Impact World Championships. Shevchenko was a dedicated kickboxer as she took a prolonged absence in MMA. She came back in 2017, when she fought Anissa Hasdaoui. Shevchenko beat Anissa with a unanimous vote, and then she defeated Valerie Domergue in Phoenix FC 4. She quit the promotion and began Dana White's Contender Series 2018. Shevchenko was matched against Jaimelene Nievera in Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11, Antonina TKO'd Nievera with her striking skills that were superior in the final clinch through knees to the body. After this win, Antonina received a UFC contract. Antonina took part in her UFC debut at the TUF Heavy Hhitters Finale with Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko lost to Roxanne modafferi by split decision following her first fight. Antonina rebounded from her loss to beat Lucie Pudilova by choking her back in a rear-naked submission in the second round at UFC on ESPN Covington Vs. Lawler. She earned the bonus fight of the night for this fight. Shevchenko won her first three fights but then lost her next three fights to Katlyn Cahookagian, Andrea Lee and Ariane Lipski. Antonina suffered a loss to Casey O'Neill by second-round TKO at UFC Fight Night Santos Walker.
