Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell, an American TV chef and former Institute of Culinary Education instructor, is a TV personality. She hosts Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, with her trademark spiky blond tresses and her edgy personality on Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Cook series, reveals straightforward and simple techniques for home cooks. Chef Burrell has worked and studied at the top New York restaurants. He also battled Iron Chef America and the food scene of Italy. Growing up in the Upstate region of New York Chef Burrell was attracted by the food. The Culinary Institute of America was the next step for her when she earned an Associate of Arts degree in English as well as Communications from Canisius College Buffalo NY. She states "I enjoyed being a Culinary Institute of America student. I enjoyed every moment." The Culinary Institute of the Americas was an excellent opportunity to pursue a degree. After graduating at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners, chef Burrell spent an entire year in Italy learning and working in La Taverna del Lupo restaurant located in Umbria as well La Bottega del 30 one Michelin star in Tuscany. While in Italy, Chef Burrell developed an appreciation for and knowledge of Italian cuisine. This had an enormous impact on how she views food. Burrell is a celebrity ambassador to the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation. She also is a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which assists kids who have challenges. In her capacity as an inspirational speaker, she travels across the nation to talk about her love of cuisine and to promote her professional career as a chef. Anne, throughout her entire experience in the kitchen, has declared that it's an honor to be able to be able to share this love of life with others.
